Whether your kitchen is big or small, storage can often be an issue. Finding space in your kitchen can seem like a nightmare. Often small kitchens and even larger kitchens can leave owners with little functionality and storage space. Lucky for you, we’ve got some tricks up our sleeve to help you get the most out of your space—whatever size it may be.
Corner Cupboard Fittings
Some people argue that corner cupboards are a cause of misused storage because they make it harder to reach those items hiding at the back. However, with the right corner cupboard fittings, having access to all of your items has never been so easy. You will never have to reach into the deep dark corners of you cabinets again.
Drawer Inserts
Drawer inserts are often overlooked when it comes to planning your kitchen. Drawers aren’t just for silverware — they can hold spices, pantry items, and all those little things. They give you organised storage and improve overall kitchen functionality.
Floating Shelves
Extra floating shelves are a great solution for adding a little extra storage to your kitchen. You can put them almost anywhere. Not enough countertop space? Add floating shelves to house small appliances such as the kettle of microwave. Sometimes we forget that cookware could serve other than just practical function. Got a gorgeous set you want to show off. In addition to being practical, they can also become striking décor pieces or a focal point by showcasing colourful crockery. Line the area right underneath the ceiling with shelves, especially if your cabinets don’t reach all the way up.
Store Pans Sideways
It seems like no matter how hard we try to keep our pots and pans organized, they’re always a jumbled. Opt to store your pans, cutting boards, lids and baking sheets sideways rather than stacking them horizontally to limit any future frustration. They’re so much easier to access when stored vertically, so if you have a lot of them.
Use Forgotten Spaces
Don’t let the side of your cabinet go to waste. It’s the perfect spot to hang heavy, clunky items that are annoying to store —colanders, cutting boards pots and pans. Install a short rail to magically turn the empty space into storage. Another forgotten space – the inside of the cupboard door. Stash saran wrap, foil, and the like in a file holder mounted to the inside of a cabinet door. By adding a cutting board over the sink or hob, provides extending cutting areas and extends the counter space. And an added bonus, straining and rinsing fruits and vegetables has never been easier.
Bin Cupboard
Keeping your bin inside a cupboard, preferably close to the sink or vegetable baskets, will help reduce the amount of clutter in your kitchen. Integrated bins are a fabulous solution to concealing clutter as well as odours. There are so many different types and sizes of bins available. .
